Victoria Trip

It was 8am in Saturday morning. We were ready for the Victoria trip. After some preparations, we gathered at the bus stop and boarded the bus to the jetty. Victoria is located at the opposite shore from Vancouver and thus we had to ride a ferry across the sea. Although the ticket was expensive, which cost $13 for each trip, it was worthy because it was my first experience riding a ferry. Well, it could be also the first time I see a ferry. The ferry was huge and it is capable of supporting the weight of cars, trucks, and passengers. On the ferry, there were numerous facilities such as food services, gift shop, arcade, car parks...One could hardly realize that he is on a ferry. Besides, I am very satisfied with the spacious seats compared to the seats on a plane. I could stretch my legs easily and sleep comfortably. It would be perfect if the design of the seats is implied on a plane. We spent most of the time on the uppermost deck of the ferry. I enjoyed the chilling wind and the breathtaking sea view while taking some photographs. Seagulls were anywhere around us too. No doubt that I will not forget this experience in my life.

Arr..Ferry~~

We are here!

We took a bus to downtown after the ferry ride. The downtown of Victoria is somewhat different from the downtown of Vancouver from the aspects of building structure and living pace. I like the design of those old-timey buildings. Indeed they are very special and bring me some special feelings. The scene is similar to those snapshots we saw in TV or magazines.I could feel myself in foreign country for the first time as despite the fact that I have stayed in UBC for almost 3 months. UBC has not much difference with parks and is only special of its greenery. Victoria is as tranquil as Granville Island that I have visited before in IPP trip. People walking on the streets slowly with their dogs, visitors taking photographs, unique bell anthems, docks with full loads of ships and yatches...I like these kind of living atmosphere personally.

We did not have enough time to visit much attractions. We went undersea garden and wax gallery. However, the undersea garden was disappointing. We were charged $5.5o for each person. No wonder there were no other visitors besides us. How foolish we were. LoL. There were only some fish in the aquariums and no others than that. Some of us regreted that we should had directed one of us to enter the sea garden and took photographs for us. Yet, there's nothing so special to be captured. Most of the fish are ugly and some of them even seemed to be encountering deaths soon. What 's the most interesting was Henli's idea of teaching rude words to the fish. Lame!

Same what?!

man u r so ugly!

Say no to undersea garden

Next, we went to the wax gallery. There were many wax statues in the building and we were amazed by those statues. They look real! We had the oppurtiny to meet George Bush, Albert Einstein, Superman, and kong fu zi...LoL. Besides we found a most interesting and seductive woman statue. Guess what. She's naked while being watched by the King! We also walked through tunnels with various themes such as ice age, mines, prisons and punishments, jesus's last dinner, etc... We were fascinated and impressed by the statues. I felt disgusted looking to the ways of deaths and the corpses. Before leaving, Lee Lung suggested that all of us pretended to be wax statues and stood aside without moving while some played the role as visitors. A man in a couple was tricked and the plan failed when we burst into laughter. It was amazingly fun having our time in the wax museum. I couldn't deny the fact that I felt somewhat dissapointed of not finding Jay Chow or Jolin's statues. However, what else can I request for and critize about. Here's Canada, not Taiwan. LoL.

We went to the miniature world at 4.45pm. However, we missed it because it is closed at 5.00pm daily. We were informed that we needed at least 45 minutes to have a visit through the site. We were dissapointed and decided to have our dinner at a mall nearby. I purchased fried rice with sesame chicken and brocoli. It was sux. Instead of chicken, it should be names flour chicken on the menu. I was pretty sure that the chicken was prepared by 20% of flesh and 80% of flour. After dinner, we managed to board the last express bus to the jetty. Else, we would have to wait until 10pm for the next ride. Phew! Fortunated. All of us were extremely tired.

We reached home at 10.15pm, which was still considered early. Although I have spent much and the journey to and fro consumed approximately 7 hours due to the long distance between Victoria and Vancouver, I did not regret. We had stayed in UBC for quite a long time since the last visit. Life is boring though. Rushing for assignments, preparing for tests, addicting to game...For sure I could not survive if this kinda of life persists. And, here's another thought after my 3 months in Canada. Before arriving, I thought of making a change of myself. I imagined that I would make many new friends. learn to socialize in English language, and become more confident. However, the fact is totally different. We are still mixing in our own group and seldom communicate in English amongst ourselves. How about classmates and resident's neighbours? Honestly, I have only known a little amount of people around me besides the IPP group members. Yet, these are just "pass - and -say - Hi " friends. Will the rest of my life in UBC same as this? I am not able to answer this query. Maybe I have to be more voluntarily friendly and talkative, introducing ownself and trying to know others? If so, yet there are few opportunities of practising it. Okay, btw now it's time for worrying about the finals. Let's place the others aside.
God bless me....

p/s: Blogging really takes much time. I don't really like to blog. LoL.
